I have worked at my current job for just over a decade. There, I have learned how to stay professional and polite in the face of someone's anger, how to work as a team without focusing on the self or one's ego, and how to work through and deal with shifting circumstances while rolling with the punches. Currently I am a supervisor who works with our employees to help them maintain the quality expected by our clients. I make sure to give a balanced response when possible so that their morale stays high, they do not feel attacked, and are receptive to negative feedback. When a balanced response is not possible I maintain professionalism and work to provide any possible solutions so that we do not have to come into conflict with one another.
