Current
Development Associate - Cambridge Judge Business School
Working jointly with, and acting as a bridge between, the University’s Development and Alumni Relations office and the Judge Business School. Establishing class giving campaigns across CJBS programmes.Identifying giving opportunities and facilitating gifts from individuals and organisations.Promoting legacy giving to the School.Stewarding gifts and maintaining good relationships with current donors.Collaborating across teams and departments.
Donor Communications Associate - University Of Cambridge Development And Alumni Relations
As Donor Communications Associate I produced and designed periodical reports for those who had made large gifts to the University. Each bespoke report allowed the donor to see how their gift was being used. According to the nature of the gift, these reports could range from a short update from a professorship, to a several page annual report from a capital building project. I worked with several parties to establish deadlines, obtain content from academics, students or other staff and departments, to proof read and edit this material and compose opening statements, and to turn this content into an attractive report for the donor. I gained skills in the Adobe Design Suite including InDesign and Illustrator, and in database management systems including Raiser's Edge and the University's new database system.

Assessment Associate
CurrentContracted, seasonal work. Assessing over 2000 International A Level Biology questions under time pressure in order to ensure students receive accurate A Level results on time. I have gained experience of working remotely, communicating with colleagues by telephone, email, and online conferencing, and have been awarded bonuses in every exam series for completing additional marking above and beyond my contracted amount. I particularly enjoy this work as it has allowed me to keep my subject knowledge up to scratch and has allowed me to see the misconceptions that A Level students still hold.
Admissions Secretary, St Edmund’S College
As the sole Admissions Secretary at St Edmund's College, I processed all queries from potential and current applicants (undergraduate and postgraduate) throughout their applications. I also organised and led drop-in style open days at the College, and maintained the Freshers' information on the College website. I liaised with Tutors, Senior Tutors and Admissions Tutors at the College and across the university in order to process applications and queries, and arrange admissions interviews. I worked within the Tutorial Team to ensure any issues for current students, be they welfare or academic, were addressed.
Operations Administrator - Cambridge International Examinations
At Cambridge International Examinations I was responsible for the production of Entry Guides for customers all over the world. I was also responsible for the production of Awarding Schedules, which required communication with Product Managers and members throughout the Operations Division. I also gained experience in clerical checking of exam scripts during the October/November 2014 exam series, which, like all of my roles at CIE, required a keen eye for detail and efficiency. I took part in meetings with project leaders and team leaders, covering the new March 2015 exam series, and the project to move November exams and results earlier in 2015.
Science Teacher
As a secondary school teacher I was responsible for the outcomes of over 300 students in their biology A Levels, science GCSEs and Key Stage 3 exams. I was also responsible for reporting the attainment of students and meeting with parents in order to establish how their child was progressing in science. This required both tact and openness. Observed once again by Ofsted, my lesson was graded 'Good with Outstanding features'. I was a form tutor for year 11 students, and helped the form complete personal statements and applications to further education and apprenticeships.
Science Teacher
In my NQT year at Samuel Ward my teaching skills progressed greatly - I gained experience teaching all ages from 11 to 18, across 3 key stages. I was a form tutor for a vertical tutor group, with students aged 14 to 16. I received positive feedback from observations of my teaching throughout the year, including from Ofsted, who visited the school in my first term of teaching and considered my lesson to be of 'Good' standard. This first year of teaching allowed me to develop my skills in time management, planning, and ability to deal with stressful and changeable situations.
