I am currently in my final year of 4 at the university of Liverpool studying an integrated masters in physics. My masters project is focused on using theories of condensed matter to manipulate crystal structure within photovoltaic cells with the application of solar cells. My previous projects have been based around computational modelling of proton beams through medical equipment and patient for proton beam therapy.I have a particular interest in environmentalism as a result of my passion for watersports which is being channelled into my research at the Stephenson institute for renewable energy. I have been teaching windsurfing since 2015 first as an assistant instructor and recently as a senior instructor. As a senior instructor it is has been my role to coordinate the safety of courses, private learning and free sailing on the beach alongside running my own sessions.I am also a very active part of the university hockey club. I've played since first year and captained the Saturday team to a very successful season in my second year. Now in my fourth year I am the welfare and social secretary, organising socials every Wednesday along with keeping moral high through all teams in the club and organising annual events. The last few months of this role have required me to start the planning and organisation for our hockey tour of 100 players to southern Spain. I've additionally been lucky enough to be involved in the charity side of the club during my role on committee this year raising over £3,000 over last November in aid of men's mental health awareness.
