I coordinated community consultation activities for the Mulgoa, Wallacia and Silverdale Sewerage Scheme on behalf of Sydney Water. This included organising public displays of design plans and letterbox drops and drafting community newsletters, information sheets, correspondence and public notices.

Internal CommunicationsI developed and implemented a communications strategy for Careers@Westpac, a change management initiative across the Bank's Australia-wide operations. I prepared communications activities and materials for the project.

I researched, wrote and edited ministerial documents, which involved communicating technical and political documents and legislation into plain English for public consumption. I played a key role in advising senior management on ministerial issues and Freedom of Information requests. I represented the organisation at the Minister's office and at the Administrative Decisions Tribunal, which required high level negotiation and issues management. I was jointly responsible for designing and introducing the IT and internal processes used to track and respond to ministerial information requests. This required extensive internal communication and change management. I organised training sessions and internal communications to promote the new system.

I managed media enquiries and wrote media releases and website updates for the RFS during 2002/03 including the Canberra bushfire crisis. I also wrote the majority of features for the RFS internal magazine the Bushfire Bulletin, a 30-page publication distributed to 69,000 volunteers in NSW.

I performed a wide range of public relations tasks for first aid provider, St John. My greatest achievement was the design and implementation of the media strategy, which generated unprecedented levels of media coverage. I wrote copy for the internal magazine and assisted in the design of promotional materials. I managed a wide range of corporate events and conducted media training for staff and volunteers, and assisted in the rollout of the national branding guidelines.
