Recruiting and retaining volunteers, supporting volunteers to take on new responsibilities and making the Bike Project an enjoyable and rewarding place to work. Organising meetings, producing agendas and minutes and coordinating volunteers.

My role involved supporting on policy and research development in relation to the role of local authorities in Net Zero. This included organising and supporting workshops and roundtables with members and key stakeholders, responding to Government consultations and calls for evidence and producing policy briefings. I supported the delivery of UK100’s research programme through undertaking research activities, liaising with consultants and reviewing draft reports.I maintained UK100's policy playbooks to inform advocacy and campaigning and monitor external research activities across the Net Zero landscape.I produced policy and research related content for UK100's e-newsletters and created social media content on Twitter and Linkedin.

I supported on UK100 communications with our members and stakeholders and work on our campaigns around mobilising ambitious local action on climate and clean air. I delivered our social media content, primarily on our Twitter and Linkedin accounts. I produced and updated analysis of climate and clean air policies and the political landscape through producing briefings, reports and wider advocacy material. I also supported on our political advocacy work making the case for greater devolved powers and funding for local and regional governments, including arranging meetings with politicians, taking minutes and helping to deliver on action points. I will produced content for e-newsletters to UK100’s members and wider stakeholders.

I assisted with UK100's parliamentary advocacy work, including contacting MPs via phone and email to invite them to meetings and events. UK100 is the secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Groups on Air Pollution and Sustainable Finance and I helped with the running of these APPGs. I organised APPG events and meetings, including sending out invitations, helping to plan the agendas and producing concept notes for the events. I also helped to manage the APPG on Sustainable Finance's Twitter account, which involves tweeting about relevant news and our events. I produced blogs for both APPG websites using Wordpress.

My role included serving customers, unloading deliveries and stocking fruit, vegetables and products, alongside providing advice and information about produce to customers and answering the phone. My role involved engaging with the public and using my initiative to address issues and queries raised by customers. I worked as part of a team to revise our systems of operating in response to Covid-19 , including expanding our collection and delivery services.

I worked on our local councils project, for which I conducted research into steps which local councils could take to address the climate crisis. I helped to produce a presentation with different policy suggestions for people to discuss with their councillors. I ran a workshop for campaigners at which I delivered a presentation on how to engage with your councillors on climate policies and facilitated a group discussion. I produced webpages about the role of local councils in climate change mitigation and wrote blogs for the website. I met with local councillors to discuss our project and their experience of being lobbied on climate issues. I also assisted with other ‘Hope for the Future’ work, including helping to write tailored strategies for engaging with MPs based upon their voting records and political interests, jointly running a workshop for children on climate change and working on a stall talking with members of the public about how we could help them to lobby their MPs.

I signed customers onto the online system, filled in paperwork, did climbing competency tests for new members, sent emails and answered the phone. I needed to resolve unanticipated issues issues and queries which people had over the phone and in person.

I worked at University open days, which involved running campus tours and talking to prospective students and parents about my course and why they should study at Sheffield. I also worked at ‘Orientation’ - a week to help international students to settle into University, for which I ran events and socials and helped to make new students feel welcome and supported.
