This role was an autonomous role in which I oversaw all elements of marketing within the Compass residential and business brands. It was my duty to oversee and manage content on the website and on other platforms to ensure it was up-to-date, accurate and clear. I also had a hand at collateral creation, including flyers, brochures and invoice billboards. During my time at Compass, I refreshed and refined the automated emails as well as the FAQs on the website. I also started a content marketing strategy, producing one article per month.I oversaw and supported the external door-to-door sales team, working to maintain a positive relationship and uphold strong practice standards. I also produced weekly reports for my manager and my CEO, suggesting how we can improve sales in certain areas.

I worked in the Alumni Relations and Development team, which is dedicated to engaging alumni and raising funds for future students, ground-breaking research projects and resources at the University of Auckland. The major responsibility of my role was to coordinate and produce content for ARD newsletters and publications. I frequently wrote articles, biographies, invites and webpages for Alumni Relations and Development as well as selected and edited existing content in the University network that was of interest to our alumni network. As the first person in this role, I took on the responsibility of creating clear processes and deadlines for scheduled content. I created a dedicated bank for photos to ensure everyone in the department can easily access and share photos for a range of material or reference. I also participated in ad-hoc marketing projects as required, such as Raising the Bar, which saw 20 informal lectures take place in 10 bars over one night. During my time, I taught myself how to edit videos and photographs to create visually appealing material for our alumni to enjoy.

After a successful two-month contract, I was recommended to for the role of Publicity Specialist on a four month contract. In this role, I worked closely with Waste Solutions, creating content such as press releases, social media posts and online articles to inform and educate Aucklanders about better waste practices. I also assisted with marketing tasks, including producing marketing materials, arranging advertising and updating the Waste Solutions website.During my time, I worked on a long-term publicity campaign for the rollout of community recycling centres, helped arrange community engagement events and built a marketing plan for Composting workshops across Auckland.I interacted with a wide range of people during my time in this role, including community groups, politicians, suppliers, agencies and council workers. This fortified my relationship building skills and with the high-pressure environment, I also improved my organisational and task-prioritisation skills.

This role saw me working in one of the largest communication teams in the country. Over two months and during a busy period of the year, I was responsible for assisting the marketing and publicity team, including writing up briefs, managing the production of collateral, checking drafts and. This required me to learn quickly, use my initiative, apply a keen eye and utilise marketing knowledge to best reach the people of Auckland. In the short time that I worked in this role, I participated in a number of key projects, including collateral for the Howick by-election and material for Low Carbon Auckland. Working in a fast-paced and busy environment challenged me to build relationships quickly and learn how to operate within a large organisation with many processes.

Mount Wellington

Operatunity is a small, family-owned company that provides daytime concerts and musical travel to retired and semi-retired New Zealanders.I was responsible for all marketing and media day-to-day tasks, as well as assisting with customer bookings on the phone. This included writing press releases, booking and arranging advertisements, arranging print materials, building relationships with various media outlets, and interviewing featured artists for each concert. Between concerts, I also produced two monthly newsletters via mail chimp, updated the website and organised and planned new potential promotional opportunities. Another key part of the role was long term planning and large scale projects. I organised the photoshoots for the 2017 brochure, including props, outfits, locations and talent availability. I also oversaw the design, print and mailout of the brochure to over 11,000 customers. During my time, I also assisted with the planning stages of the new website.This role required strong organisation and communication skills, as well as attention to detail and the ability to take initiative and make careful decisions.

This role saw me brainstorming and writing articles and other copy required by Marketing Minds' clients. I also contacted media outlets to get my content published, which I successfully achieved with an article related to the Alibaba deal.The others types of content varied from award submissions, LinkedIn profiles, newsletters and reports. I conducted this work on a freelance basis, working independently from home.

My main responsibility in this role was to write and publish articles for the company's online magazine "Thoughtleaders". The subject matter was varied but generally centred around business and technology, bringing an original yet approachable perspective. I also completed some major projects, including writing and editing RFPs, writing webpages, editing documents, helping create LinkedIn profiles and re-writing CVs . During my time, I worked independently and learned quickly to complete a number of different tasks to a high standard.

In my role, I produced blog articles, whitepapers, landing pages, video scripts and interviews for clients across a range of different industries. I worked independantly to chose topics that met the client's brief and were relevant to the selected audience. I also encorporated SEO elements to improve search ranking and create conversions and chose appropriate media to be included in the articles. Part of the role also encompassed client communications in handling requests, feedback and occasionally booking meetings via skype. This saw me using my initative to build a strong relationship with my clients and ensure they were satisfied with the work. As a member of the business writing team, I was responsible for sub-editing my teammates' work and brainstorming ideas and topics as a group. Each writer had monthly targets to meet, requiring a strong, supportive team.

My role was mainly customer service focussed and as the last point of contact before leaving the store, my job was to be efficient yet friendly to all customers coming through. With many people seeking assistance for gifts and special meals, I would often help with queries and offer suggestions, including making gift baskets and wrapping flowers. When there were no customers at the checkout, I would restock and organise shelves, clean and tidy all areas, answer phonecalls and print tickets for the shelves.During university I worked part-time but moved to full time during the breaks. I often worked in a number of areas such as the florist, cafe, deli, produce and butchery. This gave me a strong knowledge and appreciation of food and the ability to think on my feet. As an experienced member of staff, I assisted with training and supporting new staff members in the checkout. I also took on the responsibility of opening the checkouts in the morning, including distributing tills.

I was one of 10 writers chosen from a pool of 200+ applicants to give a candid yet informative look into the life of a first-year student. This involved writing a fortnightly entry on a topic which would be of interest to both current and potential students, sourcing images, uploading my work and answering any queries or questions in the comments. I put a lot of effort and care into creating articles which were both entertaining and enlightening. My work also gave me the opportunity to speak at two open day sessions, one for parents and one for students. This helped build confidence in public speaking and interacting with the general public. I also volunteered at the 2013 ANZMA conference, giving me some valuable experience in events.
