This full-time position allowed me to work as an autonomous practitioner using evidence-based practice to clinically assess and treat various MSK injuries and conditions that reflect the needs of the individual, the sport and are in line with the student-athletes’ goals for rehabilitation and sport/interests. My role included planning, designing, and implementing pre/rehabilitation to student-athletes at Millfield School from ages 8 to 18 across multiple sports of all injuries in both male and female athletes. I kept medical notes and all documentation up to date. I provided immediate pitch-side first aid, trauma and sports injury management for football, rugby, and netball and utilised the SCOAT6 to gradually return players safely post-concussion. This position allowed me to work as part of an MDT keeping the medical team, athletic development team, coaches, parents, and houseparent’s informed to ensure a consistent approach to care. I actively engaged in continuous personal development weekly.

During my 3rd year placement as a student Sports Therapist at Everton Academy FC I supported in the screening of u12-u21 players for injury, completed examinations and assessments, updated medical notes, utilised different methods of treatment (exercise prescription, soft tissue therapy, manual therapy, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy). Further to this I made and delivered indoor and outdoor rehabilitation programmes for common injuries such as ATFL, ACL tears, hamstring strains, and spondylolysis. This placement has allowed me to improve my interpersonal skills, work in a multidisciplinary team and develop my knowledge.
