• Provide professional nursing triage services and health advice to patients over the phone.• Preform detailed evaluations of patient’s symptoms and provide appropriate medical advice on treating symptoms and/or recommendations for escalating treatment.• Refill patient prescriptions per protocol.• Communicate effectively over phone to recognize the patient’s health concerns and immediate needs.• Adhere to standardized protocols to assess and formulate a plan of care.

• Assess patient condition immediately upon arrival, checking vital signs, reviewing EMT reports, and determining initial prioritization.• Provide IV access as needed, conscious sedation and local anesthesia for wounds.• Assist other providers and physicians in lifesaving procedures.• Communicate patient condition and treatment plans to patient and families, gaining consents as required. • Coordinate care with physicians and other clinical staff to prepare for treatment, carry out interventions and enhance continuum of care.• Monitor and record patient conditions, vital signs, recovery progress and medication side effects. • Triage and treat high-volume caseload in a busy emergency room setting.• Uphold patient safety standards by preventing unauthorized access or incorrect dosage administration.

• Preform various types of venipuncture, skin punctures, and UDS screening including specimen collection and handling. • Maintained compliance with OSHA safety regulations for blood-borne pathogens and prepare patient rooms for phlebotomy procedures. • Label specimen collection, match all laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes and entered specimen data into computer.
