Hello! Me in a nutshell...Prior to pursuing Registered Massage Therapy I completed a degree in Nutrition and Nutraceuticals (NANS) at the beautiful University of Guelph. NANS is a fairly new program that includes courses on human nutrition, physiology, general sciences and courses specific to nutraceuticals - essentially a degree based on Hippocrates famous quote "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." After graduation I did a little bit of travel (because its mandatory, right?) and I've held a few positions with amazing employers. During my employment I was able to meet skilled and passionate individuals who were kind enough to share their knowledge with me, and help me hone in on the skills I have a natural proclivity for. The desire to help others is a constant drive throughout my career and often became one of my most considerable strengths in my previous roles. My experiences to date have shown me that I want an active career that allows flexibility, the ability to work one-on-one with others, and to do something meaningful for those individuals – RMT is a perfect fit! Since becoming an RMT I have felt affirmed that this career change was the right choice for me. I have enjoyed working with my clients and learning about the complexity of the human body. I especially enjoy the problem-solving aspect of treatment and seeing clients leave their treatments feeling better than when they came in. In practice, I am open, attentive, and a very accepting - my goal is to make clients feel as secure and as cared for as possible. I enjoy tailoring my treatments to the individual and learning which techniques and strategies work best for each concern that clients bring to the "table" (pun intended). I am a lover of many things however, most people are quickly aware of my love of cats (especially my own), and my passion for learning.
