Part of the NHS Scientist Training Programme. I am gaining experience in the specialist seating service, functional electronic stimulation and pressure mapping. I am developing my skills in the workshop and becoming involved with quality management systems. I have had the opportunity to have placements in other medical departments including Urodynamics.

I am helping to ensure that young people with disabilities have equal rights in the workplace and education settings.

Supporting children with autism (often on a 1-1 basis) and their families. I have worked on holiday play schemes and one off events.

I am a patient advisor for the research which aims to combine smart biomaterials with stem cells to improve low back pain. As part of this I ensure that the scientific language used is appropriate for the public. I work as part of an international team and speak to scientists to discuss their findings and outreach the project.

Foundation Trust Governor representing patients from London. My role involves holding the non executive directors to account and influencing decisions made at the hospital board level. I am the chair of the Membership Engagement Recruitment and Representation Committee. I am actively involved in recruiting new members by providing benefits of the trust.

I present about my experiences of the NHS to students on the programme. I help to initiate conversations about healthcare. This requires excellent public speaking and presentation skills.

I was involved in producing bespoke engineering solutions to aid people with a range of disabilities.

I worked in the encoder product division. I was involved in calibrating machinery, running manufacturing lines and producing working instructions for different processes.

I taught children and adults the RYA dinghy and windsurfing syllabus. I was involved in teaching children with disabilities to sail and often worked with non-English speaking clients. This required excellent communication skills to ensure the safety of my pupils.
