It's on Us is a national initiative started by the Obama-Biden White House that was created to increase conversations surrounding sexual violence, emphasizing that everyone must be a part of the solution. It is now one of the largest national organizations combatting campus sexual assault, with chapters at more than 55 campuses nationally. Our chapter focused on holding trainings for students around survivor support, bystander intervention, and advocacy. This chapter filled the gaps of the organizations available to students through the Office of Sexual Violence Prevention as it was the only student-run club that directly addressed sexual violence, which allowed for a diverse group of students.

The Waterford Country School’s residential program is a co-ed bed facility for adolescents referred by DCF or the Juvenile Justice system that works to provide intensive family, individual, and group treatment. As a residential intern, I worked with adolescent girls aged 13-17 to develop social, emotional, and behavioral skills in order for them to return to their homes, schools, and communities successfully. Under staff supervision, I utilized the CARE method to provide trauma-informed emotional and behavioral coaching.
