About Zoë Bowen Smith

Zoë Bowen Smith is an actor, comedian, producer, and writer based in Los Angeles, California. Leading award-winning productions both onstage and on-screen, Zoë is a versatile, energetic emerging artist with comedic sensibility and thoughtful technique.Originally from the East Coast, Zoë has performed on stages in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. She will always be partial to Connecticut, though, and more specifically, to her hometown: the City of Stamford, once inhabited by notable characters like Gene Wilder, Gilda Radner, Meat Loaf, Stephen Sondheim, and Harry Houdini- clearly a burgh of brilliance.Zoë is a diligent, technical actor, classically trained, and well-versed in the Stanislavski system and Meisner techniques. She trained at the College of William & Mary, New York Stage & Film's Powerhouse Theater, Studio Acting Conservatory, Lesly Kahn & Company, and Stephanie Feury Studio Theatre. From years of theatre acting, script analysis remains the cornerstone of Zoë's acting approach. Yet, she feels equally comfortable without a script, as she has over ten years of improv comedy experience with Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), the Pack Theater, Washington Improv Theater (WIT), and Improv Utopia. In recent years, Zoë has launched her budding career in film acting. She can be seen on Netflix in Rustin (2023), the acclaimed independent shorts The Death of Anne Brontë (2022) and Jesus Would Have Loved Punk Rock (2022), and Zoë stars in a new feature, The Trip (2024) coming soon to screens nationwide. In addition to her creative pursuits, Zoë has a B.A. in Public Policy, and is a skilled climate communicator. She currently works as a Communications Specialist at the International Council on Clean Transportation, organizing events like the Transatlantic Transportation Decarbonization Summit, a leading conference on decarbonizing road vehicles.
