My career mission has been to bring together people and collections to facilitate new and exciting conversations. I am interested the use of museum collections for inspiration in creative practice, as well as by historians. I'm always more interested in objects+people, rather than just objects.I'm always interested in supporting other people to achieve their research goals, based on my own knowledge and experience. I have extensive experience of providing lectures and object-based learning sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate students. I've also given lectures to adult audiences at the V&A, the Design Museum and elsewhere.As Events Secretary for the Wallpaper History Society I curate a programme that explores the many fascinating aspects of wallpaper: from design and production, to questions of home, heritage, memory and identity. I've helped move the Society to better use of digital technology including Zoom and Eventbrite. I'm currently working on a feminist history/biography of interwar design advisor, Grace Lovat Fraser, whose life and work touches on many of my other areas of interest, namely the history of the design of everyday domestic spaces, and consumer choices in domestic furnishings including wallpaper.
