I built several full-stack web applications in Javascript with Node & Express, AngularJS, and Ruby on Rails during a 12-week Web Development Immersive program (WDI). I worked independently and in teams, using the agile development process to develop each feature or design layer efficiently, while incorporating feedback about the user experience. The WDI curriculum emphasizes collaborative and self-driven learning, computer science principles, and applying industry best practices. PROJECTS - Scope: scope-learning.herokuapp.comScope is a Ruby on Rails web application for people who want to learn to code, but don't know what resources to use. Users can save resources that interest them, as well as comment on resources they've already used in order to help other users find the right tools. I created a clear, organized SQL database of resources and tags that doesn't exist anywhere else. - To Market: farmers-market-finder.herokuapp.comA web app that helps tourists and locals easily find a farmers market near them. Users search by zip code and see farmers markets plotted on a map as well as in a list. Built with: JavaScript, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, Mapbox, and USDA National Farmers Market Directory API.- Canopy: project-canopy.herokuapp.comCanopy is show-and-tell for web developers and engineers. Each user’s live projects are embedded and rendered on the site so visitors can interact with them without leaving Canopy. The app was built in Ruby on Rails, with SQL. My responsibilities included setting up MVC files and relationships; photo uploads and storage with Paperclip and AWS S3; authorization & authentication; incorporating the Screenshot Machine API.- Simplify Local: simplifylocal.herokuapp.comIn 24 hours, my team and I built a mobile-friendly web app where users can find and shop at locally owned businesses near them. I lead the front-end development by designing layouts, integrating maps, and developing the pitch to the judges.

I worked with a small Alumni & Development team to plan and execute 22+ events per school year. I quickly learned tools for updating content on department web pages (hosted by Whipplehill) and maintaining the alumni database (The Raiser’s Edge). I developed and maintained strong relationships with alumni, parents, Board of Trustees, faculty, students, and major donors.

Oversaw day-to-day operations in the office of a busy, high-profile restaurant in Albany, NY. I started when the restaurant had only been open for 4 months, and I created office systems and build the catering program.
