Maintained accurate and high quality site survey data on a daily basis of all active mining areas to ensure correct and accurate mining in the right locations. I built effective relationships with all levels of management as Survey was involved with and participated in daily Production meetings. Survey tasks also included daily setting out mining panels for development; end of month surveys and resulting reports; setout and picked up exploration holes; provision of TBM’s at various locations around site; survey tasks associated with construction of new haul roads including final as built and cut/fill volume calculations. Whilst at BC Iron, I reviewed and maintained the site survey control network; liaised with external provider to extend the range of the site GPS network; and always provided consistent delivery of high quality survey data.

Leinster Nickel Operations

My time at Leinster including working both underground and in the open cut pit that was reactivated. I was involved with checking and updating the control network associated with the reopening of the pit to ensure accurate survey data moving forward. Daily tasks in the pit included setting out blast patters, danger/caution zones, dig limits, TBM’s in the pit as well as exploration holes around the site. Daily tasks underground included setting out underground development headings and picking up headings to ensure mining in the correct locations; setting out production rings and at times CMS and CALs surveys and I-site scanning. End of month surveys were conducted both in the pit and underground with prompt issuing of results and reports. I developed effective relationships through daily liaising with Operational and Development Managers to ensure the all parties had their required information to complete their tasks resulting in no production delays. There was a strong focus on maintaining a strong survey control network which was interesting in a volatile underground environment.

Bhp Billiton - Leinster Nickel Operations

Same role as Mine Surveyor - BHP Billiton, as stated above.

Surveying tasks included completing re-establishment, feature and level, setout and as-built surveys and associated plans and reports. Project management of small to large scale developments including continual liaising with clients, consultants and referral authorities. Preparation of fee proposals and invoicing including managing project budgets. Training of recent graduates and survey assistance and also assisted other Licensed Surveyors with management of their projects. I obtained Registration of Licensed Surveyor in November 2010.
