About Zoë Paris
The French language has always been my lifelong passion. Throughout my teaching experiences I have been exposed to learning needs that range across primary and secondary school. As I continue to explore teaching as a foreign language through Comprehensible Input, my goal is to be able to combine all the elements that I find fascinating about language acquisition in a way that is accessible and meaningful regardless of age or level of experience.

Private Tutor
I tutored elementary through high school students on general education subjects. My particular emphasis was on reading, writing, and study skills. I worked with students on their homework and writing assignments while also creating personalized games and study materials to help them achieve their academic goals.
French And Esl Tutor
I taught students from ages 3-18+ in both French and English as a Second Language. For children under age 8, language acquisition was accomplished through play, songs, and art projects. For children ages 8-12, lessons were taught with a focus on conversation, songs, and drawing. Private sessions were tailored to individual clients and their language needs.
Academic Tutor
I was hired on a short-term contract to help tutor elementary school students. I helped students with all academic subjects with an emphasis on reading and writing skills, such as spelling; writing complete sentences; and finding the main points of an article. For K-2 students, I focused mainly on improving their math and computation skills.
Child Care Specialist
I was an au pair in Paris for 9 months, during which I was enrolled in 9 hours of French lessons each week at an accredited French language institute. I taught my host children English while learning French from them and my host parents.
Social Media Contributor
In 2018 I joined the JAS as a contributing art historian, working closely with its co-founder Yona Verwer. My work with the JAS had been posting on their Instagram account each day for their exhibition “Passover and the Consequences of Freedom” at the Brooklyn Jewish Art Gallery, as well as editing and proofreading documents for Yona and other artists within the organization.
Writing Tutor
I tutored a minimum of three hours per week along with one hour of tutor training per week and assisted students in the writing process, including clarification and elaboration of ideas; understanding writing prompts, proper use of citations, and various types of formatting including MLA, APA, and Chicago-Tribune Style; providing adequate assistance for English Language Learners as well as students with learning disabilities; and working with Undergraduate, Graduate, and Doctoral level students.
Usd Galleries Intern
Throughout my internship I succeeded in creating a label for one of the pieces featured in our exhibition titled Bruce Davidson: The Photography of Civil Rights; gained experience in framing and hanging artworks; undertook research for the Galleries in collecting prints to expand the collection of works by African American artists; aided in preparing for the exhibition, Rembrandt: A Decade of Brilliance; as well as various work that required assistance throughout the semester.
