Reporting to the Hotel General Manager, I am responsible for ensuring the hotel achieves the targets and objectives set out in our budget and sales and marketing plan.Overseeing the bedroom, conference and event sales team, I ensure that all members of staff are maximising opportunities both reactively and proactively.Revenue management is a large part of my role. Daily pick-up analysis, maintaining a rolling 13 month demand calendar, evaluating the performance of distribution partners and contracted rates (OTA, corporate, FIT) and groups business.Through this, we were able to achieve 19 consecutive nights consecutive occupancy and the highest net monthly rooms revenue since the hotel opened in 1999.Conference and events business plays a large part in a very competitive market. Ensuring that we are priced inline with the market, competitor analysis, researching local events, attending and organising trade/wedding fairs, generating and following up new leads including making contact by phone, email, conducting showrounds and converting the business. Fully trained in Opera PMS and S&C system.

Working in a busy reservations office offering both short and long term accommodation in luxury self catering accommodation.Responsibilities include assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Reservations Department, managing telephone, fax and email enquiries in a prompt and professional manner, looking at and understanding seasonal and historical trends to ensure the maximization of occupancy and revenue plus producing quotations and written confirmation to all clients.Customer service is a large part of the business and maintaining this ensures a high proportion of our guests return. As one of the first points of contact for the guest if there is an issue, I make sure that a satisfactory outcome is reached as quickly as possible.Recently I have also been instrumental in setting up regular eshots to guests that have stayed with us previously which involved setting up marketing databases through to the design and execution of the email.My organisational skills are essential to this role and I enjoy working in an environment where no two days are the same. Able to work as both a member of a team and on my own, I am also able to work under my own steam and self start.

From taking the initial enquiry to greeting the bride and groom on their wedding day, my role allows me to meet many different people and is very rewarding.Day to day duties include dealing with new enquiries and assertaining exactly what kind of wedding the couple want, then sending by email or post the relevant details plus quote. I also follow up on previous enquiries and invites couples into the hotel for a showround. In the run up to the actual day, I am the main point of contact and hold the 6 week meeting to go through final details and calm any last minute nerves! Dealing with last minute requests, checking the seating plan and table arrangements and coordinating any deliveries is what I do on the day. This also enables me to be a friendly face on their big day.
