I am a Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My education has given me a strong interest in Process Engineering with hopes to pursue a career in designing and consulting on various chemical processes.Currently, I am working as a Brewery Operations Intern at Molson Coors Beverage Company where I am learning the finishing end of the brewing process. I will be working to reduce dissolved oxygen throughout the process as well as increasing tank capacities for our Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy. Finally, I will be involved in the final filtration process to optimize filtration media.Previously, I worked at Cargill, Incorporated in Sidney, OH as a packaging and Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) engineer Co-Op. Through this experience I deepened my understand of the global agricultural supply chain, and have become familiar with their state of the art packaging and warehouse facility. I interacted with operators, engineers, and executives to communicate efficiency solutions across the plant, and have been grateful to learn new interpersonal and technical skills. At school, I am involved in a social sorority, Alpha Xi Delta, and have held leadership and executive positions within that organization. I also am a part of numerous professional organizations such as Alpha Chi Sigma (professional chemistry fraternity) and American Institute for Chemical Engineers. I was on the spearheading committee for the registered student organization, Womxn in Chemical Sciences to provide a community for women and others in the chemical sciences. Something I am proud of is my involvement in the community both in Sidney and at school. I am passionate about sustainability and that has been reflected in my environmental chair position in my sorority as well as my volunteer work in the Great Miami Watershed clean up. Furthermore, I have volunteered at animal shelters here in Sidney and in my hometown, and I support the local Boy's and Girl's Organization through my involvement in the community.
