My writing career spans over 30 years and includes multiple roles and industries. I started out writing children's novelty books including licensed Ninja Turtles and published my own series at 23 years old. I found writing easy and rewarding.I currently write a blog as a hobby (www.peopleannoyme.co.uk), sharing funny anecdotes of everyday life and I recently graduated from the British College of Journalism as a Freelance Writer. I have written short stories and poetry forever and currently write features for a local village news publication.After working in children’s’ book publishing, I left to travel and ended up in Hong Kong. I came home and worked front of house in a contemporary art gallery in London before going away again and setting up a Knowledge Management conference company in Singapore. I returned home again to a career as a Teaching Assistant in a state secondary school for 10 years.My continued creativity led me to hone engineering skills with wood for the past three years. I design and build from concept to finished pieces to a high standard for sustainability and longevity. My work is delivered all over the country for public dwell time and experience.In amongst the above, I founded and organised a unique race for children, the May Mile, for 10 years that raised £15K for charity while creating a Doodle business to support under-performing teenagers, in my spare time. Travel includes: most of South America, some of the US including New York City, Canada, New Zealand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Myanmar, Cuba, South Africa, India, Malta and most other countries in Europe.With many careers in my wake, I take on challenging, new roles, harnessing interpersonal skills, collaboration and problem-solving.
