Part of the first ever British Women's Eight to win an Olympic medal after winning silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics. In addition, earlier in the 2016 season this crew became the first British Women's Eight to become European Champions.A dedicated and determined elite athlete who champions a commitment to excellence in both the daily training environment and internationally in competition. I have a strong belief that good communication and respectful crew cohesion play a pivotal role in determining success at the highest level and I pride myself on basing my leadership style on these skills.While my rowing career has centred around strong and essential teamwork, I am fiercely independent and self motivated. A skillset exemplified well in my management of serious injury during the 2017 season. Faced with a surgery and a lengthy period of rehabilitation I devised a bespoke and holistic approach by coordinating a multi-disciplinary team of experts. Taking the opportunity to explore perceived weaknesses, retain primary strengths and evolve as an athlete. For the first four years of my time on the senior British Rowing team I was juggling full time training with the completion of my PhD thesis. Consequently, I have established strong organisational skills, a keen work ethic and the ability to prioritise.

Created a unique research project to investigate a highly technical process, operating within a transient environment. The ambitious fieldwork design required a significant logistical effort to coordinate various stakeholder’s interests and exploit a unique window of opportunity.Disseminated research learnings extensively during the PhD process. Accordingly, is the lead author of two published journal articles and has delivered both oral and poster presentations at numerous international conferences.

Facilitated a cross disciplinary research project concerned with biogeomorphology and heritage studies. This role provided an opportunity to demonstrate different writing styles to report research findings for both a scientific and a non-scientific audience.Executed a large-scale research study requiring construction, monitoring and maintenance from conception to completion. Significant organisation was required to coordinate site access, delivery of materials and equipment, alongside the development of a systematic monitoring methodology.
