Proactive, goal-oriented writer and masters student in East Asian Languages and Cultures with a specialization in Chinese Literature. Former undergrad student in Chinese Language and Culture, and Editing, Writing, and Media with a focus in Rhetorical Theory and Creative Writing. In the summer of 2021, I walked over 1,700 miles from the Mexican border to the Oregon/Washington border, mostly on the Pacific Crest Trail, and then on the Oregon Coast Trail. While doing so, I fundraised over $1,000 for the Environmental Defense Fund by writing personal, descriptive blog posts about the journey. In school, I spent most of my extracurricular time working several jobs simultaneously, my favorite as a social media assistant at an independently owned bookstore, and being either a member or team leader in marching band. In past summers, I’ve traveled across the United States to places like Hawaii, Alaska, and all the midwest’s national parks, and across the world, solo-traveling in China, Japan, and France.I aspire to write my own work and assist with the publication of diverse stories and voices. My favorite publishing house is Penguin Random House. My other hobbies are nature photography, creating and editing personal yearly videos for YouTube, composting, reading and reviewing books, and emailing my representatives about women’s rights and the environment.
