Work on iRODS, an open-source data management middleware solution intended to manage very large amounts of data and accompanying metadata, as well as execute rules set up by the system administrator to do things such as comply to standards or replicate to prevent data loss.

Research Triangle Park, Nc

Worked on a system designed to automate testing of server hardware and firmware (AIT). Used an SQL database, a RESTful Java backend running on Tomcat and Jetty, and a Dojo (JavaScript) frontend, and ran in a Red Hat Linux Xen environment. Wrote user interfaces; debugged backend defects; tested, performed, and improved installation process; and helped manage various installations of AIT. Development followed an Agile model with six week sprints.

Chantilly, Va

Managed and collated data on Cloudshields (appliances which monitor and regulate network traffic at wire speed, based on FPGAs) with Django (essentially JSP in python rather than Java). Wrote web interfaces in python for SQL database interaction and cleaned up code.

Worked on a facial recognition system for the US government. Fixed a stack overflow error in a live video capture library that was integral to the project. Used OpenCV for image analysis.

Manassas, Va

Worked on the BAWS (Biologic Aerosolized Warning System) Project, developing a biological weapon sensor system for the Japanese government. Identified and fixed a two year old bug that was causing the systems to never go into alarm.

Assisted in teaching a high school CS course in Java. Gave lectures on Boolean Logic and Objects vs. Primitives. Helped students with lab assignments. Graded lab assignments and tests.
