I have been part of some of the leading news organisations in Bangladesh over the last decade, from the country’s first internet-only newspaper to its largest private news agency. Trained in a real-time, all-digital news environment, my key areas of action over the years have been content planning, team management/mentoring, newsroom coordination and news writing/editing. The diverse environment allowed me to work in various capacities and develop skills in curating and editing news for print, electronic and digital platforms. I have expertise in writing, editing and proofreading articles, press release, and speeches, among others in both Bangla and English. I acquired hands-on experience in website management on a day-to-day basis, along with SEO, social media management with an understanding of traffic behaviour and mobile journalism. I have actively covered three national elections and issues ranging from workers’ unrest to Rana Plaza collapse, Rohingya crisis, foreign affairs, and anti-terror operations with a particular interest in minority/indigenous communities, climate change and environment. I received a number of fellowships and participated in training programmes arranged by national and international organisations over the years. I have also been awarded a place in the Oxford Climate Journalism Network run by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford.
