Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment. Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures. Maintain records of goods ordered and received. Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability. Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers. Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service. Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders. Implement new or improved supply chain processes. Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
