Zohreh Mostaani got her B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from University of Tehran, Iran, and her M.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Ozyegin University, Turkey. During her Master's she worked on ``Optical Wireless Communication''. Later, she started an Internship at the ``Perception and Activity Understanding'' group at Idiap research institute, Switzerland. There, she worked on ``Gaze Estimation'' using deep learning approaches. Afterwards, she carried out an internship at the ``Speech and Audio Processing'' group at Idiap. She worked on software development for a speech recognition webserver where she got to work on not only speech technologies but also software design and server-client paradigms. She continued her work initially as an intern and later as a ``Research and Development Engineer'' in the ``Biometrics Security and Privacy'' group at Idiap during which she organized three biometric data collections, studied the impact of makeup on the deep learning based face recognition systems using Bob (a machine learning and signal processing toolkit), and was involved in the development of BEAT (a framework for machine learning experiments). She is now a PhD student at EPFL university and works as research assistant in the `Speech and Audio Processing'' group at Idiap. Her research is in understanding the relation between speech and physiological signals using machine learning and signal processing methods.
