In 2010, I began my career at a busy, multi-doctor veterinary specialty practice as a receptionist. In 2012, I was put in charge of accounts receivable where I developed and implemented new collection methodologies that reduced receivables by over 60%. These AR projects were ongoing and by 2015, my responsibilities had expanded to assist in hiring and training the front desk staff, which varied from six to ten part time and full-time employees. I was also tasked with auditing, evaluating and revising a wide range of HR and accounting policies. In 2016, my position became more formal and I was promoted to the management team to oversee all Human Resources and Accounts Receivable. This journey included obtaining HR training, hiring legal help, crafting a new personnel handbook, expanding benefit offerings, restructuring attendance and paid time off policies, and successfully moving to an HRIS for timekeeping, payroll, and employee reports.My day-to-day tasks included processing biweekly payroll, monitoring time clock and time off, administering employee benefits, and performing basic bookkeeping, word processing, and filing. I handled claims for Workers Compensation, Unemployment, and COBRA. I also made decisions for payment processing services, extending credit to clients, and handling overdue accounts. I assisted the other members of the management team in personnel decisions and actions. I administered new hire and random employee drug testing with HIPAA compliance, and tracked employee uniform and education allowances.

Oversaw ministries for over 900 children, including Sunday Schools, two preschools, nurseries, and a tutoring program. Supervised and trained staff (7) and volunteers (150+). Delivered children's messages in worship. Evaluated and developed curriculum and training resources. Made pastoral calls and visits.

In a church of over 2,500 members, developed comprehensive plans and goals for growth in Discipleship ministries, focusing on children and their families. Implemented plans through recruiting and training staff and volunteers.

Revitalized education and social programs for youth and children through building relationships, developing new programs, and engaging families in local and international service-learning opportunities. Raised funds for these programs, recruited and trained volunteers, and hired and supervised staff.

Worked with leaders to develop and evaluate policies, goals, and objectives for all aspects of education. Created leadership opportunities for children and adults. Designed curriculum that incorporated creative and non-traditional methods of instruction. Led seminars and special programs for adults, children, and families. While building relationships with students on campus and leading student religious organizations, partnered with Penn State Altoona Office of University Relations as Graduate Assistant and with Perry Highway Lutheran Church as Director of Student Ministries.
