Lead the development of a brand-new product offering - the Router 6000 family - ranging from low capacity single-board routers to high-capacity modular chassis products pioneering the use of merchant switch-chip silicon to provide an attractive price-performance ratio. Entered new markets focusing on 5G use cases and ensuring tight integration with the radio ecosystem generating an increasing new revenue stream. Heading an organization of 300+ employees including a multi-layer leadership team in Beijing, China covering all functions of hardware/software development, verification, and release. Managed cross-site development with teams situated at various locations both inside and outside of China. Drove organization strategy and managed capability according to product development needs. Interfaced key external parties including suppliers, partners and customers. Maintained direct connections with CPU, switch chip, FPGA and other major component vendors.

Lead the Smart Packet organization to develop, deliver and maintain Ericsson’s fronthaul and backhaul transport products including the Router 6000 family, the SP family (SP x10 & SP 400) and the Fronthaul 6080 family. Managed an organization of 300+ employees including a multi-layer leadership team in China and drove cooperation with an additional 70 employees in Jorvas, Finland. As Head of Development Unit IP (DUIP) China: Responsible for coordinating multiple DUIP units at the Beijing site involving over 500 employees. Responsible for the architecture design and development of routing / switching software features for both Ericsson’s Smart Services Router (SSR) and Ericsson Virtual Router (EVR) focusing on data plane functionality. Lead a unit of 70 employees including a team of managers across two sites (Budapest, Hungary and San Jose, USA). Delivered key L2, L3 and MPLS features for multiple router platforms with both in-house and merchant switch chip architectures. Drove close cooperation with control plane development teams in San Jose and Bangalore, India

Managed a division of engineers in three sub-sections including a team of managers. Responsible for networking software (packet forwarding software) and line card driver development for Ericsson’s Smart Services Router (SSR). Delivered packet forwarding software features for multiple SSR line card variants including both in-house and merchant switch chip architectures. Drove the cooperation with development sites at India and Canada. Performed both functional and project management (Feature Prime) tasks. Initiated and drove research cooperation and proof of concept activities.
