Lead Engineer - Module Delivery
CurrentDeveloping new Engineering solutions for Body Engineering (BE) plastic/metal components, incorporating system integration across the BE System, and with input into the geometry of the vehicle package. Using virtual engineering tools to lead the concept development and problemresolution with cross-functional teams.Manage and coordinate the design, development, testing and introduction of new systems andcomponents (commodities). Operating in a cross-functional organizationMy main responsibilities:Delivering the commodity plan to QCTWERS releasing to support the above commodityEnsuring all programme design solutions meet:Programme targets for cost and weight.Legal regulations & RMDV requirements.Optical Quality and PCPA requirements.Management of the design responsible supplier teams in support of delivery of the programmemilestonesKeeping all Module documentation up to date including:Foundation & Programme DFMEAsQuality history & Bill of designCreation & maintenance of vehicle test plans -detail planning of test & developmentManage vehicle development testing to sign off -supporting engineering test teams with issuesResolve issues with component engineering and vehicle attribute teams to develop designsthat meet targetsEnsure all appropriate JLR standards are met throughout design maturationProvide input into new feature developmentManage and resolve issues, escalating where requiredOwn and deliver the Engineering APQP deliverables (to complement the STA Engineer APQPdeliverables)Responsible for concept development and problem resolution with both Core and Programmeteams, with the use of virtual engineering toolsDeliver vehicle programme geometry as requiredManage the creation of Associative Vehicle Architecture models and development of appropriatestandards
