With more than two decades of experience as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Zoran Djordjevich joined Mohnacky Animal Hospitals in Carlsbad, California in 1998. Known as “Dr. George” to his clients, he became Partner in the practice by 2001. With a special interest in veterinary orthopedic surgery, Dr. Zoran Djordjevich routinely performs TPLO, TTA, pin and wire fixation, bone plating, and patella procedures. Dr. Djordjevich has had a major impact in the development of the Helica canine Total Hip Replacement (THR) technology. He refined the THR procedure by inserting the Helica stem prosthesis through the far cortex of the femur, which is now considered the standard process for implementation. In addition, through his surgical approach of injecting stem cells into the site, it helps to reduce the chance of rejection, and improves recovery by stimulating bone formation. Dr. Djordjevich has been working with adult stem cell therapy since 2010, and has helped them become an affordable remedy for conditions such as canine arthritis. Dr. Djordjevich continues to achieve breakthroughs in veterinary medicine through his enhancement of the new Helica TPS Stem by Innoplant. A native of the former Yugoslavia, Dr. Djordjevich obtained his DVM from the University of Belgrade. After attended the Royal Veterinary College in London, he immigrated to the United States in 1994. Dr. Zoran Djordjevich is a professional member of groups such as the San Diego County Veterinary Association, the California Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. In addition, Dr. Djordjevich is certified in PENN-Hip X-ray, and is accredited by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Veterinary Accreditation Program.
