After a long period of martial arts training, I became qualified as a self-defence instructor and began teaching a regular class for the LGBTQIA+ community in and around Leeds. I run weekly classes, in addition to crafting bespoke self-defence training for corporate clients. I specialise in self-defence for marginalised groups whose needs may differ from those of the general population.

As Director of Riot Us, I’m the lead on all projects that require content strategy, SEO, copywriting and developing content. I became fully responsible for employee training throughout the company. This included understanding what training was needed, surveying staff to ascertain gaps in their knowledge and skills they wanted to develop, sourcing training providers, and creating and delivering training sessions.Most of the training I organised and delivered was to do with digital marketing. In addition, I also delivered training on data analytics, creative writing, and diversity and inclusion.

In addition to my content creation duties (below) I became wholly responsible for a team of Content Writers. This involved high-level oversight over client work, managing employee needs and morale, recruitment, and being on-hand in case of client emergencies.I also took on responsibility for training the team, introducing new training sessions and ascertaining what training was needed.

I created marketing content and ran digital campaigns for firms including Western Union, Brookson, EngTechNow, Microsoft and SECOM. This included keyword research, persona creation, content ideation and SEO analysis.Content ranged from short blogs to interviews, case studies, white papers, infographics and even comic strips. Once created, I would also be responsible for measuring the success of the campaigns using tools such as Google Analytics and adapting to the results.

I planned engaging and creative humanities lessons and delivered them to students from years 7, 8 and 9, controlling discipline in the classroom and making sure the students were participating and learning. I also created resources and activities that helped students absorb information and remain engaged with the topic, as well as tracking pupil progress and assessing their work

I worked with children with special educational needs, helping them understand the concepts being taught and manage their emotions in classes so they could get the most out of their secondary education and have the highest chance of success.
