Julie's House is a bakery shop in Ghent. I really enjoyed working here as a student for more than 4 years. Even though this was 'just' a student job, this job helped me developping skills I consider relevant for any future job: customer service, communication, independence and problem-solving.

I really enjoyed my intership at Transgender Infopunt. I was not only responsible for the daily operation of the organisation (e.g. answering emails about the transgender theme, organizing internal meetings, ...) but I also developed my own project about wish of children of transgender people themselves. I talked with multiple organizations about the possibilities for transgender people to fullfill their wish, I organized a focus group to learn more about the wishes of transgender people and I summarized this information in a webpage.

For the internship of my Sociology master, I engaged myself in an intern project in collaboration with AIESEC Ghent. The Indonesian project 'No Women Left Behind' focused on women emancipation. My goal was to learn more about the role of women in the Indonesian society by interacting with several Indonesian associations that already focus on this theme and by organizing a focus group. Eventually, we taught high school teenagers about gender equality, women emancipation and sex education. By doing so, I developed important sociological skills: doing research and practicing fieldwork.Simultaneously, I was living in an Indonesian guest family, which was a cultural exchange.
