Like all good startups, I've pivoted to a more leveraged domain... this time taking the steering wheel of my terminal in both hands and plotting a course into the realm of experienced software engineering on the same team I founded as a Group Manager, then as a TLM, and now as a senior and if I do say so, distinguished member of the team as an IC.The best summary I can provide is: I'm holding the career ladder upside down and it's intentional. Despite getting into software engineering in order to wrangle Google Sheets, write status reports, file TPS reports, and conjure Jira tickets... I'm taking my career a shiny new direction and hanging up my human ETL skillset for a black and green terminal and b-trees.I'll continue to lead our team on rolling our our next generation storage platform at 300% the speed of comparables and doing little side quests that maximize shareholder value.This year we revolutionize SQL at Plaid, next year it's NoSQL or caching and finding my next professional raiding crew! Hired and managed a talented team of software engineers building out an amazing on-demand ecommerce manufacturing startup.Built out team, designed 1-2 year strategies, and contributed to company roadmap as part of the Executive team.When I needed to relax off hours, I built out CI/CD, AWS IAM security rules, secure password storage systems (AWS Secrets Manager + AWS Vault + STS), infrastructure as code (EC2, IAM, etc), Kubernetes, staging environments, developer environment tooling (developer efficiency projects), business intelligence tooling using a open source project I wrote to stream data from MongoDB into PostgreSQL in order to perform critical business reporting.The most technically nuanced project that I contributed architectural guidance and execution was moving our stack off of MongoDB in order to unlock urgent and important product development. We succeeded :). I provided my expertise in NoSQL and SQL systems through performance debugging and coordinating SQL training for team from our amazing Lead Product Manager.
