Welcome to my professional journey! My passion lies in sports journalism, with the intent of contributing to the broad Chicago-land sport scene post-graduation. At present, I am interning as a sports writer and social media manager at EnforceTheSport, a burgeoning sports website, as part of my studies at Northern Illinois University.As an ex-sports reporter for my universities student-based multimedia company, the Northern Star, I covered NIU football, cross country and wrestling as the main beat reporter. I have crafted more than 40 recaps, columns, human interest/player profiles and investigate stories, highlighted by a feature piece on NIU’s play-by-play broadcaster Andy Garcia. I have honed my ability to cultivate compelling stories with influential figures in sports and structure my articles to narrate an engaging story.Additionally, I served as a Student Production Assistant for NIU’s sports broadcasting partner: Huskie Vision. In the 2022-2023 season, I was one of two students that to join NIU’s Broadcasting crew as a sideline correspondent on ESPN 3, NIU’s main network. I wrote my own scripts for the open and conducted interview’s with players and coaches at halftime and post-game/meet. I additionally operated camera and video play-back for ESPN productions on basketball, volleyball and gymnastics. These opportunities taught me how to be adaptable and what creates an enticing show for our audience.
