    The Foundation for Education and Development (FED), also known as Grassroots human, Rights, Education and Development (GHRE) is a grassroots organisation based in Phang Nga, Southern Thailand that works to support marginalised Burmese migrant families. The 3 main program areas are: Health, Education and Migrant Development. Within these areas there are a large number of projects including women's empowerment, Human rights education and documentation, legal aid, job creation, school integration and a community health worker project. FED-GHRE also runs 8 learning centres with over 500 Burmese children enrolled, 2 nurseries, a youth outreach centre, a temporary emergency shelter and a commiunity child care centre. Coordinated 150-200 volunteers over 18 months – up to 12 at any given time. Reviewed CVs & matched them to programme needs, liaised with volunteer recruitment firms. Created research projects and activities for volunteers, created and improved volunteer management documents. Orientated volunteers to the area, organisation and culture, assisted with visas, accommodation and arranged transportation. Liaised with partner/donor organisations, brainstormed new project ideas, researched and wrote project proposals and grant applications, formulated budgets, planned project monitoring and evaluation, negotiated MOUs, wrote/edited donor reports. Contact person for donors.I have also taught a variety of topics such as drama, physics and art to children of all ages at a number of summer camps, taught beach volleyball to girls aged 8-12 and taught jewelery making handicraft skills to several groups of vulnerable women.
