Zachary Ford received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Centre College in 2012 and now serves as Director of Development at March For Our Lives. Here, he oversees the organization's private and public fundraising, as well as the individual donor campaign. Zach collaborates with March's staff, board, members, and donors to achieve its mission: creating safe and healthy communities and livelihoods where gun violence is obsolete. Prior to joining March For Our Lives, Zach served as the Director of Development at VOCAL-NY, a community-based organization in Brooklyn that builds power among low-income New Yorkers impacted by HIV/AIDS, mass incarceration, the drug war, and homelessness. Before VOCAL-NY, Zach served as a Senior Program Manager at AIDS United, where he oversaw the grant making and relationship management for AIDS United’s harm reduction portfolio. Zach collaborated with grantees and national partners to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals and communities throughout the United States in the areas of health care services and policy.As a queer man from the rural South, Zach has a dedication to improving services for marginalized communities and strengthening health care through the framework of harm reduction, as seen through his dedication to syringe services programs to prevent overdose, reduce infectious disease transmission, link individuals to primary health care services, and build networks of love and holistic care. Zach has conducted research on the effects of law and policy on social movements, led community organizing efforts in Kentucky to pass LGBTQ anti-discrimination legislation, and led fundraising efforts in Washington, DC to support Planned Parenthood.Outside of his professional life, Zach expresses his commitment to equity and justice by volunteering with harm reduction and racial justice organizations in his community. In his down time, he enjoys traveling with his husband, mastering the art of vegan cooking, and playing outside with his dog.
