As a Registered Clinical Scientist I performed routine bioinformatics analysis of patient genomic data, software design, development and validation for clinical use, and had training and line management responsibilities. The role involved increasing responsibility in building bioinformatics pipelines and performing routine data analysis on targeted and whole exome sequencing data from patients for both rare diseases.

Worked at the Institute of Medical Biology, in Prof E. Birgit Lane's Epithelial Biology lab on a project about finding differentially regulated genes in a rare skin cancer condition. Initially genes were selected from bioinformatics analysis of high-throughput RNA sequencing data (in R), and findings were validated by quantifying mRNA and protein.
