Human Material Loop is a material innovation company developing technologies, materials and products from waste keratin protein fiber (hair) to deliver high-performing products for the textile industry with zero negative impact on the environment.

Design history and theory both provide insight into the history and contemporary position and context of architecture, design, and visual arts. Guiding students to find research methods, think analytically and critically within the creative profession, and helping them setting up their research methods, contextualising their fasciantions and findings.

The Studio Morphology is characterized by learning to work with space and form, form studies and sculpture. Research is fed with input from other disciplines. What is the role of designers in today’s world and how designers can contribute with their vision to strengthen social causes, embrace society at large and create authentic work that represents a collective effort? The OCW Emanciaption awards are given for an enormous contribution for improving the acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community and for improving the position of women in society. Society is an everchanging continuous social connection to each other, where one should not take their own privilege granted and where one should strive to make society as inclusive as possible. Guiding students to reflect on the social causes of the Emancipation awards by exploring forms, materials, and concepts, where value is created based on their vision, and where design tells a story and evokes emotions on an individual and collective scale.

Everyday objects are presented through a new lens, for one to show another side of these familiar items, and for another to question how much these objects can transform or manipulate one’s identity. Objects are becoming a part of our bodies, everything we own is an extension of the body and mind. The tools that we are shaping and that are now starting to shape us are at the edges of our comprehension. We have to understand how tools are shaping us, and how to cope with that shaping in the time of hyper-change.

Materials in a different perspective have always been an intermittent objective within the work of Amsterdam based designer, Zsofia Kollar. Zsofia’s idea of the design-discipline is not fixed but in flux, her work intrigues, shows a keen sense of humor and questions the human mind. Her quest to understand the relation between the objects and their context is ongoing, blurring the line between fiction and the realm of our reality. There is an interestingly weird uncanniness in her works, which not just reveal secrets of existing materials, objects but also investigate scenarios of the future and fictional behaviors. Triggering senses, surprising the encounters and believing that sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction could sum up the work of Zsofia which plays within the tension of art and design.

‘Object-Oriented Identity: Cultural belongings from our recent past’ is a journey through objects and identities. Through curiosity, it helps discover the unforeseeable directions in our product-oriented society, where one is no longer the sum of their actions, but the sum of their own objects.OOI is a catalog constructed as a result of a personal fascination with understanding the nature of our consumption.
