- Managing a team of 25+ computer scientists, engineers, and data scientists split between Lahore and London. Teamplay marries big data systems and microservices with machine learning and industrial standards to enable Industry 4.0 applications and can run on bare metal as well as the cloud. - Handpicked the technology stack comprising MQTT, Flink, TimescaleDB, Druid, JanusGraph, Docker, DCOS, Ansible, Postgres, Flask, React, Avro SerDe/RPC, Zeppelin, OpenRDF, Redis, Spark, and Keycloak and languages Java, Scala, Python, Golang, Erlang, and Javascript.- Productized data science for time series data in the form of algorithms and tooling for machine learning, deep learning, and optimisation. Selected frameworks such as Sklearn, Pandas, Numpy, Spark ML Pipelines, and Tensorflow as the underlying technology fabric.- Started the software engineering and data science teams from scratch and designed the processes and culture. Baked in agile methods, test driven development, and CI/CD in to the engineering process from day 1. - Part of the management team in charge of defining product strategy and the overall direction of the venture with direct reporting to the CEO.- Coordinating with a diverse array of other stakeholders including domain experts (mechanical, chemical, and electrical engineers), sales, marketing, and HR.

- Part of the team that engineered the current generation of Qubit’s petascale real-time processing and storage pipeline for customer experience personalisation atop the Google Cloud Platform.- Leveraged a diverse array of programming languages, including Java, Scala, Python, and Golang and big data frameworks, including Dataflow, BigQuery, BigTable, Dataproc, PubSub, Container Engine (Kubernetes), and StackDriver to implement a number of scalable services.- Led the design and development of Qubit’s core modelling substrate, QProtocol, and Firefly, a service to bubble up data integrity errors directly to customers. - Authored a book about Spark Streaming while working full-time.

- Used the full spectrum of big data solutions, from stream processing systems to batch processing frameworks and from message queues to storage platforms for a number of customer engagements.- Worked with domain experts within the Smarter Cities Technology Centre to solve real-world problems in urban dynamics, smart energy, mobile computing, and telco analytics. For instance, worked with Vodacom South Africa for predictive customer care using transaction data records, billing data, and CRM and Électricité de France for real-time demand forecasting using data from smart meters.- Bridged the gap between the technical and non-technical worlds viz evangelism, engaging in research strategy, internal/external presentations, white papers, etc.

Designed and taught two graduate level courses: 1) Advanced Operating SystemsUsed MIT xv6 for explaining core OS concepts.2) Advanced Real-world Programming.Used Python as a case study to teach different programming paradigms: imperative, object-oriented, functional, and event-driven in addition to solving real-world problems in scientific computing, data mining and machine learning, NLP, etc.

Mentored the mobile agent development for OpenMonitor at Umit Project.

Developed the Android mobile agent for the OpenMonitor ecosystem. OpenMonitor (http://www.openmonitor.org/) is a global Internet connectivity monitor which acts as a watchdog against Internet censorship.

Worked with the wireless Linux foundation to implement WiFi roaming in mac80211 using the wpa_supplicant.
