In April 2022, the Health-tech and disability-tech startup where I previously held a position, LanternPay, was acquired by National Australia Bank (NAB) to integrate into the renowned HICAPS health-tech claiming rails in Australia. As part of this acquisition, I seamlessly transitioned to the HICAPS business, assuming a pivotal role within the Leadership Team.The sale was driven by two key factors: the cutting-edge, scalable technology I contributed to developing at LanternPay, and the cohesive high performance team culture centred around delivering tangible social outcomes.During my tenure at HICAPS, I spearheaded the convergence of two distinct technology stacks, team cultures, and operational frameworks into a unified HICAPS entity. Fostering a fintech-driven high-performance ethos within a risk-averse banking environment presented its challenges; however, the experience has been immensely fulfilling and has yielded significant successes in various aspects.

My role at InLoop is Chief Technology Officer across the various businesses in the group – Flexischools (School payment solution), FLX (Financial Literacy for children), LanternPay (Healthcare and Disability claiming solution) and Clickability (Disability brokerage solution).Highlights of my time at InLoop include:• Designing, architecting and project managing a technology modernisation programme for the Flexischools platform - converting a legacy 12 year old platform to a modern platform utilising a Microsoft Domain Driven Design architecture with a strong CI/CD and Infrastructure as a Service framework.• Performing Database Administrator (DBA) role for the Flexischools Microsoft SQL Server databases (4 Terabytes) including Mirroring, Replication, HA and Disaster Recovery understanding and implementation• Building high performing teams across the engineering business – teams focused on clear goals with roadblocks removed• Lead by example – rather than being ‘above’ the team, I am simply ‘part’ of the team – I spend a large part of my time coding and working together with the team• Strong focus on ‘high quality’ development – using TDD and BDD concepts• Building a reputation of being focused on very rapid delivery – and mentoring others to have similar styles• Part of the InLoop Leadership Team along with CEO, CGO, CFO, COO, CPO, CISO. WiseTech Global is involved in developing fully integrated packaged logistics software solutions for the Supply Chain industry. In my years at WiseTech, I have worked in a variety of roles, interacting with other developers, departmental managers, the CEO, Board of Directors and customers. These roles have included:• Using Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning to developer an expert decision support system• Architect of a leading edge, patented, technology platform. This solution utilises RESTful WebAPI services and multiple client front ends (iOS, Android, WPF, HTML/JS/Angular, WinCE, Win Phone). I am the architect and the innovator on this project and am responsible for the design and delivery of the architecture, the delivery of the end product, managing a team of 40 developers, and providing project management related status updates and demonstrations to relevant stakeholders (CEO, Board of Directors). I am the author of 2 patents related to this technology (published in 2017).• Developing, maintaining and enhancing a scalable and flexible architecture for their packaged products. This involves a large amount of Microsoft .NET n-tier design and development whilst practicing our own adaptation of Agile methodologies (TDD, BDD, CI, CD).• Mentoring, coaching and managing the development team (150+ developers), spread across 4 time zones – Sydney, Chicago, Kyiv (Ukraine) and London. This involved designing and running code and design reviews, unit test reviews and methodologies, performance and remuneration reviews and being involved in new hires.

Created a market research software package for Farron Research, a leading Australian market research company. Managed the development and requirements and now distribute this product to other market research service companies in Australia.Initially written in ASP and MS Access, then migrated to WPF using an ADO.NET and SQL Server backend, then to ASP.NET MVC, and now to an Angular and Bootstrap front end, a .NET Core and Entity Framework core entity layer exposed using WebAPI RESTful services, supported by a SQL Server backend.

Working as a strategy and technology consultant in the EDS Consulting Services (now DXC Technology) service line with a range of clients in different roles. Involved in all phases of project lifecycle, focusing on the delivery of leading edge web systems using the Microsoft .NET framework. Projects included:• Delivered a 5 year Corporate and Business Internet Banking global strategy for the National Australia Bank (NAB) across multiple regions (Australia, New Zealand and UK) and multiple banks (NAB, Bank of NZ and 4 UK banks). • Part of the team that delivered the first Internet Banking system developed using the Microsoft .NET framework in the world for the Bank of Queensland in 2002 in a six month timeframe. • Developed and implemented “BPAY View” functionality for the Commonwealth Bank's NetBank system using C++ to develop a scalable XML-based system to integrate with a third party solution (Sienna BillView) and also CBA’s legacy banking platforms.

I was placed at Accenture as part of my university course for a 6 month industry placement. Accenture allocated me to a large Customer Relationship Management (CRM) project at Macquarie Bank Limited.The system is used by Financial Planners and Advisers to have complete access to all of the client’s details (including personal details, account details etc). The CRM packaged chosen (and customised) was Siebel Janna Contact Enterprise 2001.My roles involved being a key player in the Application and Interface Testing team – involving development of test strategies, test scripts and performance testing for the application itself, as well as the interfaces to legacy host systems. Also involved liaising with the development and technical architecture team to discuss system defects discovered during testing.Post implementation, my involvement moved to user support, visiting users in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth. I assisted these users in using Janna as the bank felt that I was capable of providing the user-knowledge as well as technical-knowledge.
