Uganda is currently a host to over 1.11 million refugees and it is predicted that this number could grow up to 1.8 million by the end of 20 according to UNHCR. The vast influx of refugees is due to several factors in Uganda’s neighboring countries, especially war and violence in south Sudan and Dr.congo With majority of the refugees below the age of 25 years.PROJECT DESCRIPTION:The project is a youth led Hip Hop project that is geared towards the upliftment, elevation and enhancement of the inner abilities and potentials of the youths in refugee camps engaging them in experiential and practical Arts Education disciplines that are tailored to equip them with both artistic and business skills to be able to build them as professional creatives, promote healing, Peace building, rehabilitation and positive social change through various forms of Hip Hop elements such as Breaking/dance, Rap/poetry/music. Graffiti/mural/Street art, Deejaying, Beat boxing, Street fashion and Street entrepreneurism. OBJECTIVES;Convey the diversity and high artistic merit of the arts in the refugee settlements as vibrant, engaged, and innovative partners in addressing social issues related to trauma, conflicts, gender-based violence, and poverty while promoting healing, reconciliation, resiliency, leadership, entrepreneurial skills and peaceful resolutions.Provide unique opportunities for sustainable artistic collaboration, engagement, and performance between artists in the refugee settlements and Ugandan and international participants in both the settlements and others in Uganda and abroad through platforms such as residencies, festivals, theaters, events, and exhibition.

Mobilized leaders from different communities across Uganda under the Universal Zulu Nation umbrella Using Hip Hop culture and all forms of art created from it and to use all styles of music, dance, written and visual arts as the medium for cultural exchange, understanding, inner standing and over standing.Held community outreach programs in Sironko Distrit distributing food, clothing and rendered free medical treatment and check up to over 1500 local people.Mentored Rap prospects the art of rhyme and poetry to express their inherit understanding of rhythm, linguistics, physics, mathematics, memory, local reasoning and high communication skills uttered in their native languages to embrace and celebrate our cultures, heritagecreating ancestral experience deepening their transformative Hip Hop practioneer unifying and rebuilding our communities.Organized ghetto to ghetto community gatherings seeking to uplift and empower marginalizd people, mock oppressive conditions critiqued by " conscious Hip Hop" mobilising desired legitimate particular forms of knowledge and questions commonly held assumptions about the world challenging hegemonic thinking offering alternate accounts of current and historical events

Develop and implement curriculums geared towards securing impact service and transformative liberative education in schools, camps, post conflict zones, drug rehab, refugee camps, communities to prepare for effective leadership through exposure to a series of creative arts that promote healthy self esteem, identity, cultural awareness, development of critical thinking, communication and resiliency skills thence self created responsible leaders and citizens.Held Youth Leadership 8 regional tours in collaboration with grassroots Youth organizations in Arua, Kigum, Jinja, Luwero, Kampala,Luwero and Semuto using innovative arts and Hip Hop elements( Breakdance, poetry , Deejaying, Knowledge of self, Fashion, Beatboxin, Health and Street entrepreneurism) facilitating edifying artistic and life skills enticing individual's awareness awaken to social and cultural gender norms, organizational skills, business plans and start ups, cultural appreciatio, self responsibility and decision making skills igniting their power of the mind and creation to be able to develop self and the localities.Initiated the ongoing kid’s art project in Semuto and Kawempe which has helped kids below 13 years grow in self-confidence, self-expression ,self-esteem and personal growth.Organized Youth Leadership and Hip Hop education camp from 8th-28th May 2017 with over 155 youths from West Nile region of Uganda in Arua District using arts as entry points to engage adolescents girls and boys in discussions on understanding economic stereotypes that hinder both girls and boys to be employed and how art can be used as a vehicle to addressing these challenges.

The aim is to establish satellite Non profit organisations, under one Hip Hop brand, across the world.To date, 30 countries have enlisted, and the ambassadors, are in the process of nominating their committees. These entities will comprise of influential artists, performers and intellectuals from all elements of Hip Hop. They are all, invested and committed to the aims of GHH.GHH will become an influential movement in the new global village. Youth of today especially, need empowerment through something they can relate to, and believe in. GHH aims to harness the progressive talent of otherwise disenfranchised youth, into a collective, dynamic and productive international program, guided by a central committee.The aims of the program initially will be to set up infrastructures to deal with the symptoms of the world as it is. Our network will enable us to set up pre structured and designed community arts workshops, youth empowerment initiatives, co operative events, programs for conflict resolution, hunger alleviation, edutainment, and especially, refugee assistance.GHH is also designed to facilitate sustainable, vital, and transparent CSI initiatives. Blue chip and corporate entities will have the opportunity to partner GHH globally, in specifically initiated Cause Related Marketing (CRM) programs. This means that the funds generated for GHH, through the partner, will be acquired through pre designed CRM campaigns endorsed by credible and current personalities, and organisations. These campaigns will be influenced by our global reach, and will be driven independently in each country as well. GHH will perpetuate the UHHM mandate of Peace, Unity and Love, through our initiatives, and international network.

Skillz East Africa is an annual grass root supported hip hop event and tour that aims to promote positive youth development by supporting the creation of a safe spaces with community youth led and focused initiatives and promoting the cross cultural expressions of the HipHop Kulture.The joint collaboration between Street Anatomy Uganda, New Image productions worldwide and Youth leadership 8, contribute towards the Skillz East Africa platform in three major strands these include: social development focusing on Health, Gender and entrepreneurship, Hiphop Education- understanding, promotion and preservation of the Hip Hop elements and finally cross cultural international exchange programs.The program’s three objectives are:1. To nurture artistic talent and develop children’s, young people’s transferable life skills that arise from successful arts education, including the use of imagination and considered risk taking, co-operation, tenacity, flexibility, responsibility and leadership skills.2. To build collaborative partnerships among the youth through designing creative safe spaces that enable young people thrive with the opportunities present in their communities.3.
