Assessed current scrap practices including sortation procedures and technologies, usage and recovery of alloys and environmental and economic impact with the objective of defining a strategy to manage growing volumes of aluminum scrap in the American automotive industry. Developed a model through dynamic material flow analysis (dFMA) methods to understand the current and future recycling rates.
