I am a Research and Extension Specialist at the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development at Purdue University, Department of Agricultural Economics. My work is in the broad area of rural social and economic development, with a focus on rural communities. I am concerned with different analytical approaches to understand the factors and conditions that enhance economic opportunities and improve the lives and livelihood of stakeholders in rural communities. Between 2005 and 2017, my research focused on the analysis and evaluation of rural development policy and socio-economic community development in remote rural areas in the European Union and Russia.I led and participated in the number of national and international projects for the Czech Government, European Commission, and Russian Authority. I am trained and experienced in drafting project proposals, designing and conducting research, and dissemination of results. I gained robust experiences both in qualitative (interviews, questionnaires) and quantitative (input-output analysis, logit regression) research.I received master’s degree in Agricultural Economics and Management at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, and Ph.D. in Regional Studies and Public Administration at University of Economics in Prague, Czech Republic.I have been participating in a variety of volunteer activities.
