I've worked in conservation policy, program/project management, habitat restoration, land protection, environmental education, endangered species monitoring, and ecological research for three decades. My current contracts include facilitating natural areas protection for conservation organizations such as the Kentucky Land Trusts Coalition. I also serve on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Kentucky Natural Lands Trust, and on the Board of Trustees for Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest. I retired in 2021 as the first Executive Director of the Office of Kentucky Nature Preserves, after designing the merger of the Kentucky Heritage Land Conservation Fund, Kentucky Wild Rivers System, and the Kentucky State Nature Preserves Commission. I also served as the Chair of the Kentucky Heritage Land Conservation Fund Board for four years after serving as KHLCF program coordinator for the prior six years.
