As an undergraduate at UCLA with a penchant for travel, I wrote and released the first online travel booking software program to help travel agents transition to the digital future. I couldn’t have guessed it at the time, but that early success would pave the path to a colorful and highly-rewarding future as a tech founder, leader and mentor. I have a track record of founding, growing, and successfully exiting a long-list of venture-backed start-ups. Since 1995, I’ve played a major, hands-on role in five consecutive successful exits, including at least one unicorn. That’s why I am repeatedly entrusted by some of the savviest founders and VCs in tech to shepherd their companies to the brightest possible results.A few highlights:Managing a Global Org - As COO at StubHub, I am part of the leadership team driving the global growth of the leading platform in a hotly competitive market and a highly visible industry where consumers, leagues, artists, and policymakers have loud voices about our every move. My portfolio includes operations, supply, sales, real estate, and HR, and I’m using my decades of experience to help make hard decisions that benefit our stakeholders. Growth Hacking, Digital Marketing and Operational Excellence - I joined ZipRecruiter when it was the fastest growing startup in LA and as COO shepherded the organization to exponential growth and through the transition to becoming a successful public company. Among our innovations was the now commonplace podcast live-read ad format, which proved to be massively more impactful than typical ad insertions and powered a great deal of demand for our platform.A penchant for identifying and solving big problems - The old adage that half of all advertising is wasted always rubbed me the wrong way, and I knew that with a proper perspective, we could develop a multi-media advertising and sales attribution model to optimize our ad spend at YLighting, the online lighting e-commerce company I built in the early 2000s (acquired by Alpine Investors). The innovative attribution model became the seed of my next company, Convertro, (acquired by AOL). Earlier in my career, when I recognized that the transition to digital documents would require trustworthy digital signatures, I founded EchoSign, the first web-based e-signature company, (acquired by Adobe)An eye for talent - I led Crystal Dynamics, a video game company with a hand-picked team who have gone on to create an unbelievable list of blockbuster games including: The Last of Us, Call of Duty, Goldeneye, The Lord of the Rings and Soulreaver.

Co-Founder And CeoYdesign Group Aug 2001 - Sep 2008Walnut Creek, Ca, UsI founded YLighting with David Feldman as a side project to our other initiatives. YLighting is the largest retailer of modern lighting on or offline and because we had no employees or physical assets, we utilized homegrown software to manage customer service, logistics and of course marketing. YLighting had large revenues and very large EBIDTA and when private equity approached us about selling at a high multiple, we said sure - selling for cash two weeks before Lehman collapsed.YLighting was acquired by Alpine Investors private equity in 2008. -

PresidentPathway Ventures Llc 2000 - 2005UsI co-founded Pathway Ventures at the height of the first Internet boom because I realized that the market was overvaluing stock and undervaluing cash. Instead of working for one company, we competed with McKinsey in the bay area to provide strategic consulting to portfolio companies of Kliener Perkins and Benchmark Capital. I personally led a team of four that focused on product strategy - repositioning existing product offerings to address market opportunities - Avamar - sold to EMC after switching business from consumer to enterprise - ReplayTV - sold to SonicBlue after determining that traditional consumer electronics retail was not going to work - Vcommerce - creating scaleable processes to increase oppex by moving business from consumer to enterprise When the market collapsed for our services, we reduced our company from 14 consultants to four and sought projects that were more performance based. We sold the assets of Diva Corp, a web 1.0 company that had a portfolio of patents that we determined were a potential workaround to the Gemstar patent portfolio. That portfolio was sold for more than $32M to a consortium that included the major cable providers after running a live auction with bidders like Microsoft, Motorola and Scientific Atlanta. We then recognized that VOD was over-valued and DVD was being undervalued in the market and sought to purchase undervalued DVD assets. This led to our leveraged buy-out of Columbia House Record and Video with the thesis that we could shut down and harvest the declining music business while riding the wave on DVD. We raised money from Blackstone to fund the purchase. After the purchase I was involved in product strategy, online marketing and corporate development.Columbia House was sold to BMG in 2005. -

Ip AttorneyLoeb And Loeb 1994 - 1995New York, UsI never intended to be a practicing attorney but as fate would have it, I was offered the best job of my graduating class doing trademark and copyright work primarily for the entertainment industry and regional corporations. I'm probably most remembered for bringing in Neutrogena as a client to the firm as a summer clerk or being the first attorney to have a computer on his desk (as opposed to his secretary's)
