I participated in the Global Intern Case Challenge where interns from different parts of the world came together to propose ideas on how Visa could further reach out to potential customers. Through this case challenge, I learnt how to write a white paper and gained a deeper insight into how a good business idea should be developed.I also joined the Capture The Flag challenge where I completed the OWASP WebGoat tutorial and gained hands-on experience of using ethical hacking tools such as Burp Suite. I gained a deeper understanding of the vulnerabilities that may be caused by poor coding practices and standards.

Together with 3 other interns, I built an internal DevOps tool that was used to monitor the statuses of different components in the testing environment. I learnt and applied technologies such as the Spring Framework, Selenium and Splunk to develop the system. It was a successful Minimal Viable Product and there were plans to further develop the program to add more features to it. We worked as a Scrum Team, and each of us took turns to be the Scrum Master. Throughout the 13 weeks, I have managed to gain a good understanding of the Agile Methodology and put to practise all its various ceremonies. To manage the project, we also used project management tools like Jira and Bitbucket.

Using the Laravel Web Framework, I developed multiple features for the company's website that have gone into production. I worked on both frontend and backend features and also helped to improve and manage the Statamic Content Management System. For my internship project, I created a chatbot that could process internal company data. It allowed employees to access data that they required through Slack and this helped to improve the workflow within the company.
