I'm communications professional and writer with roots in progressive advocacy campaigns, academic publishing, and magazine editorial. Since 2021 I've been the comms and marketing lead at Ecobot, writing in short and long form across channels for our three audiences: field scientists, environmental and innovation executives, and Climate Tech investors. For environmental scientists, our end users, I've distributed free scientific field guides and short explanatory blogs that break down environmental policy changes and how these affect their work.Outside of work, I'm passionate about the arts, outdoors, and progressive initiatives. I serve as a mentor for my local Big Brothers Big Sisters, and am block captain for a section of my neighborhood in Asheville.In the weeks following Hurricane Helene, as part of my neighborhood response team, I coordinated delivery of critical supplies like food, water, and medication for vulnerable residents. I served as volunteer coordinator for daily deliveries and sanitation support, using social media and collaboration with local businesses to publicize our volunteer needs. I also helped collate information for a daily newsletter (linked below) with information about resources that we hand-delivered to residents during the week-long cellular blackout.Before the hurricane hit, I was at work on an article about a volunteer-led water quality monitoring initiative that has accumulated 35 years of data in Western NC.
