Presently, I am the director of the Institute of Physics and Aerospace Sciences (IFCAE), at University of Vigo. This research institute was created in 2023 with the goal of promoting research in certain areas of physics and aerospace sciences, and especially on the search for synergies between them and with other related disciplines such as mathematics and computer engineering. The activity of the institute includes basic science, applied science and technology transfer at low TRLs.I am a proactive researcher with international posdoctoral experience and problem solving skills. I have a strong background in photonics, theoretical physics, quantum mechanics and mathematics. I am interested in fundamental physics, especially in subjects that can be connected to optical technologies. I am also interested in mathematical modelling of complex phenomena with implications for society. I am a experienced amateur-level chess player, FIDE master since 2003.
