About Åsa Corneliusson

In May 2018, I had finished my MA in Gender Studies and was heading to New York City and the United Nations HQ to join UNICEF's Division of Data, Research and Policy as a fellow. My commitment to equity and human rights, manifested through my many years as a leader in the Swedish youth civil society had already awarded me a diploma in Value Based Leadership, shaped my outlook on the world and ultimately given me the opportunity to work for a UN agency. While in New York, I met someone very special and ended up moving to the somewhat quieter, colder but equally wonderful Ottawa, Canada. Having now lived in Ottawa for almost 5 years, I have during this time accomplished a number of things, both professional and personal aspirations but most importantly, I’ve learned that Ottawa winters are indeed cold, even for a person who grew up in Scandinavia. ✨

During my time with UNICEF I developed a special interest in diversity, empathy and psychological safety at the workplace.
