• Assisting in research and control of onchocerciasis in the Yanomami communities of the Upper Orinoco region of Amazonas.• Coordinating scientific expeditions to frontier regions of difficult access of the State of Amazonas in order to identify new Yanomami communities, unknown to the Health System. • Gathering of field data in visited communities: geographic data (GPS location), demographic data (population census, information on the alliances, conflicts and migratory movements).• Organising and supervising the team work in the field (taking biopsies and distribution of ivermectine treatment, integral medical assistance).• Assessing the follow-up of the programme of the formation of indigenous primary health workers.• Elaboration of the post fieldwork scientific reports on activities and results.
