My research interest is on the relationship between protein functions and structures. The elucidated information could benefit the development of therapeutic drugs or broaden the applications of industrial proteins/peptides by altering their biochemical/physical properties.My doctoral studies focused on the development of strategies or methods to enhance protein thermostability significantly by designing salt-bridges or hydrophobic interactions with single amino-acid mutations. These studies were published on three papers. During the postdoctoral studies, I performed the functional and structural studies of microtubule nucleation protein complex, which involved in Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, and cancers. Part of the studies was published on Cell Reports. After the postdoctoral training in Sinica, I became an R&D researcher in TTI and learned antibody-drug design and production. Besides, I was able to practice small protein/peptide (e.g. vaccine adjuvant) purification and analysis by HPLC and LC-MS.
